On March 12-17, 2024, the director of the institute Vitaly Zalessky and the deputy head of the department of materials science and casting-deformation technologies Mikhail Kovalko as part of the delegation of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus headed by the First Deputy Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Sergei  Chizhik visited the Academy of Sciences of Guangdong Province.

On March 14, 2024, a conference on scientific and technical cooperation between the Guangdong Academy of Sciences and the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus was held in Foshan. As part of the event, the director of the institute V.G. Zalessky made a report on “Innovative industrial technologies and equipment for solving mechanical engineering problems.”

During the conference, Mikhail Kovalko took part in a ceremony to launch scientific and technical project between the Physical-Technical institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and the Institute of New Materials of the Academy of Sciences of Guangdong Province. This project is aimed at developing new composite materials with carbon additives and solving problems in the field of engine building.
