On March 18, 2024, Vice Minister of Industry of the Republic of Cuba José Gaspar Alvarez visited the Physical-Technical institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. The meeting was held within the framework of the working visit of the delegation of Republic of Cuba to the Republic of Belarus. The delegation included Jorge Luis Suárez Rodríguez Vice-President of the Group of Companies GESIME, José Gaspar Alvarez Vice-Minister of Industry of the Republic of Cuba, Santiago Pérez Benitez Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to the Republic of Belarus and  Mario Leonides Morena Aguilera Counsellor of the Embassy of the Republic of Cuba to the Republic of Belarus.

During the visit, the delegation visited the production sites of the institute. The technology of processing of metals by pressure aroused the greatest interest.  Ater that negotiations on cooperation in the scientific and industrial spheres were held.

According to the results of the visit, it is planned to sign an agreement on scientific and technical cooperation. It has also been agreed to participate in joint research and industrial projects.
