December 29, 2023 The Bureau of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus has determined the top 10 results of the activities of scientists of the Academy of Sciences for 2023 in the field of fundamental and applied research.
Among the best results is the development of the Physico-Technical Institute “Creation of a technology for manufacturing superconducting high-frequency niobium resonators for electron and proton accelerators. Authors of the complex of works: Vitaly Zalessky, Igor Pobol, Artur Pokrovsky, Vladimir Petrakovsky, Alexey Pobol, Alexander Burin.
Competition “Top 10” results of scientists’ activities National Academy of Sciences of Belarus in the field fundamental and applied research is carried out annually in order to reward the most outstanding achievements in the field of fundamental and applied scientific research important for development of established scientific schools or formation areas of science related to the implementation of priorities socio-economic development of the Republic of Belarus, development of new technological processes, knowledge-intensive, competitive products, and is aimed at stimulating competition and creative activity scientists of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.

The results of scientific activities of scientists are submitted to the “Top 10” competition if they meet the following criteria: published in a publication with a high impact factor; the publication is included in international databases; the fundamentally new scientific information was published for the first time in the form of a book publication (a chapter in a monograph) and is important for the progress of domestic and world science and will have a significant impact on the development of the country’s economy, solving social, environmental and other problems; Based on the research results, a new technology object (method, technological process) was created, which corresponds to the world level in most technical parameters.
