From 1 to 3 October the 16th International Scientific and Technical Conference «Modern methods and technologies of production and processing of materials» was held in PTI NAS of Belarus. The conference program was held a plenary session, organized work of two sections: «Technologies and equipment for processing materials» and «Functional materials».
The conference was opened by the academician-secretary of the Department of Physical and Technical Sciences of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, Shcherbakov S.S. Further presentations were made by the director of PTI NAS of Belarus, Zaleski V.G.; Deputy General Director – Chief Engineer of JSC «INTEGRAL» – «INTEGRAL» Holding Managing Company Kovalchuk N.S.; Professor at the Central Metallurgical R&D Institute (Cairo, Egypt) Adel Nofal; General Director of JSC «CNIITU» Kosovski A.A.; Head of Advanced Metal Forming Group, IMR CAS (Shenyang, PRC) Shi-Hong Zhang; head of the ultrasound technology department – head of the laboratory of metal physics ITA NAS of Belarus Rubanik V.V.
On the 1st of October, as a part of the work of the conference, a round table was organized on «Current issues of technological sovereignty», with the participation of Deputy Minister of Industry of the Republic of Belarus Kozlov A.A., Deputy Academician-Secretary of the DFTS Talaco T.L., heads of holding companies and industrial enterprises, scientific organizations. The event was attended by 37 representatives of 27 organizations.
Deputy Minister of Industry Kozlov A.A gave a brief report on the current tasks of industry in achieving technological sovereignty and on the positive experience of cooperation between scientific organizations and enterprises.
In a welcoming speech, the director of the Institute Zaleski V. G. identified existing mechanisms of state support for innovative projects, effective ways of interaction between science and production within the framework of state programs and contracts, identified problematic issues.
The head of the department of induction technologies and thermal processing of PTI NAS of Belarus Vegera I.I. gave a speech with the presentation on the topic «New technological possibilities of PTI NAS of Belarus in the field of heat treatment».
Scientists and business representatives participated in the discussion. A wide range of issues were addressed, from engineering training to quality assignments in government science and technology programs. Unanimously agreed on the need for such thematic round tables.
On the 3d of October, 2025 the closing ceremony of the XVI International Scientific and Technical Conference «Modern Methods and Technologies of Materials Production and Processing» was held, within the framework of which the award of the best speakers for sections «Technology and equipment of materials processing» and «Functional materials» was held. More than 70 participants from Belarus, Russia, China and Egypt attended the conference.
