The origins of the laboratory of plasma physics are connected with the laboratory of thin-filmed materials science that has been a part of the Engineering Centre «Plasmoteg» (established in 1990, since 2003 – Scientific engineering center «Plasmoteg» of PTI NAS of Belarus)
Heads of the laboratory
The first head –O. Sviridovich
Since 2005 – corresponding member of NAS of Belarus E, Tochitsky
Since 2007 – Cand. Sc. In Engineering N. Belyavsky
Since 2011 – Cand. Sc. In Physics and Mathematics I. Smyaglikov
Since 2020 – Cand. Sc. In Engineering A.Parshuto
In 2013 the laboratory became a part of the Institute as a research unit after the «Plasmoteg» abolition. In 2014 it became part of the Research and Development Center of Electron-beam technologies and Plasma Physics and was renamed into the Laboratory of Plasma Physics
